Statement from our Metropolitan

Our nation remains shattered in grief as we hear of the loss of innocent people both civilian and members of our law enforcement. We offer our love and gratitude to those who serve in uniform, especially members of our Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. Such instances reminds us that violence against any human being should not be condoned. Life is a gift of God, which has the utmost value regardless of race, creed, religion, or gender.

In response to such atrocities, we must be moved by Christ, to love one another in the midst of pain and anger. As hatred may appear to be propagated, may our actions be guided by the words of our Savior: "A new commandment I give you, that you love one another as I have loved you."

May we all be vehicles of love and peace today and all the days of our lives.
