Metropolitan Expresses Condolences and Solidarity
His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, Metropolitan, issued a letter of
prayers and condolences, on behalf of the clergy and faithful of the
Northeast American Diocese to His Eminence, Archbishop Abune Zekarias
of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church Archdiocese, on the martyrdom of 30
Ethiopian Orthodox Christian men in Libya.
Also in the recent time, His Grace offered a letter of solidarity to
the His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, of the Eastern Diocese
of the Armenian Orthodox Church of America (under the Mother See of
Holy Etchmiadzin), and His Eminence Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan of the
the Eastern Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America (under
the Holy See of Cilicia), on the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
His Grace expressed the joy of the Northeast American Diocese, that
our Catholicos of the East, His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma
Paulose II, is also present in Holy Etchmiadzin to participate, and
concelebrate in the Canonization of the Martyrs of the Armenian
Genocide, along with other Primates of our sister Oriental Orthodox
Churches.
His Grace requests the clergy and faithful of the Northeast American
Diocese, and all peace loving people for their continued prayers for
the thirty martyrs. The Metropolitan of the Northeast American
Diocese, also reaffirms our love to our sister Church, the Armenian
Orthodox Church, and our commitment in bringing the truth of the
Armenian Genocide to all people.
