Stone Laying Ceremony for St George Church Staten Island, NY

St. George Orthodox Church 75 Cedar Grove Avenue Staten Island, New York held  foundation stone laying ceremony on April 29th , 2012 for its new church being constructed at Sunset Avenue Property in the historic town of Staten Island, New York.  The ceremony was officiated by His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos Metropolitan Northeast American Diocese. His Grace was joined by Vicar of the parish Rev. Fr. Alex K. Joy, Diocesan Chancellor Rev. Fr. Thomas Paul , Rev. Fr. Aju Philip Mathews, Rev. Dn. Abraham (Abey) George, Malankara association managing committee members Mr. Paul K and Mr Coresan V, Diocesan Lay trustee Mr. Roy Ennacheril and members and friends  of the parish. The stone specially imported from Kerala was handed over to the Bishop by the Vicar. The stone was blessed in the current church and was taken by the devotees to the new church. The stone was laid 30 feet below ground level in a special place earmarked for the corner stone in the presence of devotees.

St. George's Staten Island, NY church is planning to relocate from the current church to a bigger church and is requesting each and everyone’s prayer and support.
