Prayers for our mother country, India
The following memo was issued by our Metropolitan, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, from the Diocesan Chancery.
Blessings to our Very Reverend Chor Episcopoi, Reverend Fathers, Reverend Deacons, and faithful of the Northeast AmericanDiocese!
We solicit your prayers as our mother country of India is experiencing a terrible surge in COVID-19 cases. India has the world’s highest daily cases of coronavirus with over 300,000 new cases in the past 24 hours, and with over 2,104 deaths. The healthcare systems are overwhelmed, and filled beyond capacity, with a number of people dying as they wait for oxygen. The feeling of helplessness for our people is overwhelming, as all of India weeps with a shortage of oxygen, medical supplies, and hospital beds.
As the government has imposed lockdowns and curfews, let us the faithful strengthen our pleas to the Lord God during these difficult times. May our Lord, Who saved the generations of old throughout salvation history, save India, and the entire world from this pandemic.
Commending you all to the loving care of our Lord!
Yours in our Lord,
