Ninth Hour on Wednesday

Raise the dead who received our body, O our Savior, and drank the cup of salvation of you precious blood, raise them from the grave without corruption and clothe them in glory, those who wait for you.

Glory be to the Father...

Above the beauty of the clouds will be carried the Son of the King, who comes to give life to the dead; the just will hear the voice of the trumpet which goes before him and be clothed in garments of glory and go forth to meet him.

B'outho of Mar Balai

The above selected prayers are taken from the Book of Common of the Syrian Church, otherwise known as the Shimo Namaskaram as translated by Bede Griffiths from Syriac to English.  A full copy of the rich prayers of our tradition can be purchased directly from the publishers at Gorgias Press.
