Metropolitan Issues Statement on Cairo Massacre
It is with great sorrow that we were greeted on Sunday morning with
the news of a terrorist attack which killed 25 innocent Coptic
Orthodox Christians. Although these innocent souls have gained the
glorious rank of martyrdom, we also grieve and condemn such attacks on
people who seek to practice their faith.
The clergy and faithful of the Northeast American Diocese of the
Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, offer our sincere prayers to those
who have been affected, and express our solidarity with our Coptic
Orthodox brothers and sisters. May these holy martyrs of Egypt
intercede for us. May their souls find good rest in the bosom of
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Let us pray and implore the Lord, that He may continue to protect
Christians all over the world, especially in Egypt and the Middle
East. May Christ our God provide guidance to all spiritual and civil
leaders who offer leadership during these difficult times.
