Condolences offered to Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America
His Eminence, Metropolitan Philip, spiritual leader of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, fell asleep in the Lord on, March 19 2014. He was 82 years old.
The Antiochian Orthodox Church in North America, is a self-ruling Archdiocese under the Holy Synod of the Apostolic Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and all the East. This archdiocese blossomed under the spiritual archpastorship, and vision of Metropolitan Philip, for over forty years.
His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, shared these thoughts on the passing Metropolitan Philip this morning: "Irrespective of being part of an Eastern Orthodox, or Oriental Orthodox jurisdiction, in North America, the labors of Metropolitan Philip has been felt throughout this continent for over forty years. The legacy of His Eminence Metropolitan Philip, will never fade in North America."
On behalf of the Northeast American Diocese, the Diocesan Metropolitan, His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, sent a letter of
condolence to the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America.
