Daughters of the King 1st Mini Series on October 27th, 2012
We would like to first begin by thanking you all for participating in the First ever Young Women's Conference (Daughters of the King). With your support and prayers, the conference exceeded our expectations and was more profound and special than we could have hoped for. God's work continues to power the women of our community. With such enthusiasm and positive energy collected from the first conference, it was obvious to us and several others, especially His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos, that we should have follow up, mini conferences. The mini conferences will be detailed to topics we chose fit due to the surveys and popular demand. The conferences will also be locally presented and the conferences will be apart of a series, where each one will only be adding depth to the one before. Please see the flyer attached to get more information. Please look up on the facebook page or either one of the committee members pages' to accept or decline the invite.
The 1st part of the mini series will be on October 27th, 2012, at St. Basil's Orthodox Church - 17 Randolph Avenue Franklin Square, NY from 9:00 - 12:00. The main speaker will be Rev. Fr. Aju Philip Mathews, assistant vicar of St. Mary's Malankara Orthodox Church 1424 Orthodox Street Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the topic will be the "Role of Women in Church". There will be a mini series conference in the Philadelphia and D.C. areas in the future as well~ so please look out for that.
We humbly request all who are able to please be apart of this mini series to help your own understanding of the role of women and our community's development of incorporating women into the faith and church. God bless and see you soon!
